"One picture is worth a thousand words .."

 

By this one phrase, describes her work young and talented artist and illustrator Veronika Chaika. For Veronica, illustration it not only an art form, it is associated with an illustration of her thoughts, images, as well as "stories not yet written the books". According to her words, white sheet of paper, each time it gives an excellent opportunity to create and tell stories. In her works smooth white surface of the paper, turns into boundless space of forms, a fantastic landscape, filled with tiny fairy creatures, which something resembling us. In the eyes of the inexperienced viewer, Veronica works are infantile aimed at children's audience, but in reality the potential of her work is much deeper than we think.... Her illustrations are a great opportunity for adults, to open a long-forgotten child's world, and re-believe in magic.

 

In her first work, one of the main techniques was a pastel, which made ​​it possible to convey the fragility and elusiveness of her world. Preference in the last series of her work with a lead pencil and mascara, brings poetic world  of Veronica, to Japanese tradition, such as the photographer Shoji Ueda. Black pencil imbues her minimalist work, where preference is given to the game with the frame, experiment between space and sophistication of delicate forms, as well as play with shadow. In her latest series, the viewer is difficult to find the horizon, as it is at infinity distance. This effect allows it to play with the fourth dimension, time and space. Thus its work closer to abstraction.

Veronica works carry soleness of own original style.

 

Veronika Chaika was born in Minsk on May 28. Draw beginning in early childhood. Received his artistic education. Defended her diploma in 2004, specialty designer.
